What's this gig about?
As a Customer Solution Architect, you are engaged with customers to help facilitate sales and contracting with the implementation and management of all technical conversations and solutions for new business customers, partners and existing customers. You will also work closely with the Customer Success engagement teams to build relationships, help achieve technical goals and overcome architectural and design challenges with customer cloud environments. To be successful in this role you must be tech-savvy and able to explain technical details and requirements in a human-comprehensible way.
What will I be working on?
You will be responsible for understanding customer cloud infrastructure and DevOps needs and how to meet them with pre-existing tools and services available on Cleura(Compliant) Cloud and OpenStack. In the event a customer's needs are not met by Cleura (Compliant) Cloud, you will take the lead in estimating the level of effort, defining and executing such development projects to deliver customer value.
You will participate in pre-sales conversations with potential Cleura Cloud, driving technical conversations, assessing customer needs, and making recommendations based on available technology and services.
You will act as a technical point of contact between Cleura and our Customer's or Partner's engagement teams to answer, resolve and articulate technical issues as needed.
You will provide guidance and solutions when pre-existing tools and services for Cleura(Compliant) Cloud are not going to satisfy the customer's and/or partner's goals.
You will be identifying, defining and managing the technical engagement opportunities and backlog while prioritising work using data to drive the decisions.
You will assist sales and account managers with any technical questions and respective follow up.
You will assist customer's technical requests and resolve technical issues.
You are encouraged as part of your work to provide upstream work to and participate in the OpenStack community ca 20% of your time.


What should I bring?
It is imperative that you have experience in and a clear understanding of the OpenStack platform and how to build and deploy cloud environments using it.
You need to show that you are experienced in working with DevOps tools and methodologies deploying cloud-based software or infrastructure.
You need to have 5+ years of experience in a Solution Architect/Engineer role (or similar capacity) dealing with diverse and technically challenging cloud environment projects.
You are fluent in English - spoken and written. We document everything , so this is important to us.
You need to show fluency in Python, Ansible, Terraform, Markdown and Git.
You must reside and have citizenship within the EU.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and preferably familiarity with Zuul/Gerrit.

Responsibilities:
Handle physical hardware lifecycle, from order to usage by other teams. This includes rack&stack; (yourself if you like it! or through remote hands), configuring Baseboard management controllers (BMCs), provisioning the systems.
As you are working within the network and infrastructure team, you will have to do handle physical hardware lifecycle for network gear too.
Develop automation for bridging the virtual world with the physical datacenter world: automation for deploying, scaling and maintaining bare metal nodes primarily using Ansible. We like to automate as much as we can.
Contribute in upstream projects
Work with vendors, from knowing their products to fixing bugs in their BMCs firmware.
Contribute in internal tooling for managing network and infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and fix issues in our cloud systems managing bare metal. We run Openstack with OSA, Ceph.
Work with different teams on delivering their hardware on time.
Take part in the on-call rotation. We have extensive monitoring and alerting in place.
Investigate new open source tools and technologies to add new services or help improve our operational excellence.
Contribute to improving our documentation and help train fellow co-workers on best deployment practices and support them in using the cloud.

Requirement :
OOB management tools like IPMI/iDRAC/Redfish has no secrets for you.
You know your way around hardware.
Interested to follow hardware vendor technologies.
You have experience of working in datacenters.
You want to define our way of working for bare metal provisioning.
You like Ansible and understand how it works.
Experienced with procedural, object oriented or functional programming languages.

We try to keep our work as loosely-coupled as possible, so any work hours that work for you, normally work for us. We also perform an optional 20 min daily morning check-in at 0815 CET in which we would like you to participate if it is doable.
Is travel involved?
Not as part of your day-to-day. However, we do encourage travel to conferences and meetups, because that will give you an opportunity to learn and share your experience with your peers.
In addition, you should plan for at least two team meetings per year, somewhere on the planet, that we'd like you to participate in. That policy is of course on hiatus right now on account of COVID-19 travel restrictions, but we hope that you'll be with us for many years, and thus we feel it doesn't hurt to share this information now.
How's work at City Network?
We're growing pretty quickly at this stage, in customers, revenue, and headcount. We have recently been acquired by Iver and are part of the EQT family, but continue to operate as a separate unit under the Iver umbrella. That said, we're also solidly profitable, and the company has existed for more than 15 years, so don't expect cash-burning startup insanity. This is all a good position to be in, but to be candid, just like any other company, we're not perfect. As a company, we strive to improve and perfect the structure of how we collaborate and communicate, but we're not quite where we want to be in that regard. (We do have to set a pretty high bar here for ourselves, given that our role in the market comes with a great deal of responsibility.) What employment conditions apply?
You need to have a permanent residence within the European Union.
This is a full-time position with 6 weeks' vacation. We have a company policy that specifies a 6-month probation period.
We can offer direct employment agreements in Sweden and Germany. We are also able to offer proxy employment in many countries through a partner.
If you are interested in relocating to Sweden we offer assistance in the administrative process with the relevant government authorities, in which we have long experience. Financial sponsoring of relocation can be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
What will I make?
Your salary (if you live in Sweden, and you're thus a full employee) is between SEK 27,000-32,000 monthly (depending on your experience and performance) — that is after employer taxes, before employee taxes, with legally applicable benefits.
If you live in another country, we make salary adjustments for purchasing power parity based on where you reside, according to the World Bank's PPP conversion rate applicable to your country.

About the role
Develop automation for deploying, scaling and maintaining the cloud primarily using Ansible. We like to automate as much as we can.
Troubleshoot and fix issues in our cloud. We run Openstack OSA, Ceph, NFS and a range of other systems.
Contribute to our playbooks and take part in the on-call rotation. We have extensive monitoring and alerting in place.
Investigate new open source tools and technologies to add new services or help improve our operational excellence.
